Jake Grossnicklaus with teacher Chancer McPherson

Jacob Grossnicklaus named 2013 National Winner in the National FFA Agricultural and Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award program.

Jake Grossnicklaus, of the Chickasha FFA Chapter, was named the national winner of the Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Entrepreneurship Proficiency award program at the 86th National FFA Convention, Oct 30 - Nov. 2, 1013, in Lousiville, KY.  Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excelled as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while they gained hands-on career experience.  Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintence Entrepreneurship is one of 49 FFA proficiency award categories offered at local, state and national levels.  Jake was 1 out of 196 finalists out of a record number 557,318 FFA members.  Jake is a 3rd generation agricultural service and maintenance welder.  At a young age, he began going on service calls with his father and as he gained the knowledge and skill, he was entrusted with more and more tasks.  Today, he is able to repair and build corrals, fences, tillage tools, forage and grain harvesting equipment and livestock and utility trailers. Jake is supported by his parents Robin and Jay and his FFA advisors Chancer and Melinda McPherson.
